About Siah
Hi, I’m Siah, a queer therapist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. I have 9 years of experience working with all sorts of humans, but my specialty is helping folks who have experienced a complicated or traumatic loss.
My Approach
I am a relational therapist, I don’t believe in “fixing” you through the right jedi-mind tricks or TikTok therapy trend. Rather I offer my clients a warm, safe space to ground and connect with their own inner wisdom. Through the therapeutic relationship I hope to help you gain clarity on your goals and feel empowered to pursue them.
I work with theories that are trauma-informed and anti-oppressive. I find that each person is unique and benefits from a custom approach to our work together. I am transparent about my approach and will collaborate with you to integrate tools from mindfulness, psychodynamic, meaning centered and DBT therapies. We can find a balance of structure and discussion that works for you.
Why I Do This Work
Like many therapists, my own experiences have drawn me to this work. I am a transfeminine person raised in a southern evangelical environment; my education and experiences in Social Work helped me rebuild a worldview that allowed me to love myself and survive. I am passionate about helping others unlearn frameworks that are oppressive or harmful.
